As hosts, siblings Carie and Ross will analyze this phenomenon by breaking down a favorite movie or television show and how the sights, sounds, and messages of media have followed our generation throughout our lives. TRIGGER WARNING this week, y'all. We are pulling into the Deva-Station as we unpack Dead Poet's Society (1989). Carie gets an earful from Ross, who had never seen the movie before and was not properly prepared. Ross drools over Robert Sean Leonard and his big, gooey heart. The siblings are also transported back to a time in their own lives when poetry and literature seemed to be the most important thing in life.

Ross can't stop thirsting over the backstory behind Hub and Garth McCann. Carie can't get over the way poor Walter has been failed by the system. Ross touches on the themes of isolation and arrest in development of the film, Carie holds Ross' hand through the more devastating parts, and the siblings reflect on what is was like to grow up in a small rural town.

The final days of the debate on the 13th Amendment begin in the House of Representatives and the siblings are ready for the radical Republicans to take them to school. Ross continues with History Corner as the Amendment comes to a vote, Carie has difficulty embracing the positivity of the outcome, and the siblings remark on the legacy of one of the greatest Americans to have ever lived.

Today's episode is part Ross' History Corner as we delve into Steven Spielberg's Oscar-winning blockbuster about the passing of the 13th Amendment by Abraham Lincoln in January of 1865. Ross frontloads the episode by explaining how we arrived at the amendment in history, Carie gets frustrated with all the white men who take forever to say nothing, and the siblings are reminded of the important work performed by "radical" politicians who were championing the fight against slavery.
